must-have ! Hello Kitty Landline Telephone

I purchased this telephone second hand about 2 years ago and have never plugged it in or tested its functionality once (I’ve only ever used it as a decorative item) I’m unsure of functionality but it has the hand piece cord, it just needs the landline cord for the wall. It in general is in good condition but has some scuffing here and there throughout the body of the figure. The inside battery pack has small rust build up on the door and spring (see pics) Again, I have never put batteries in it so I’m not sure if it works. I did a wipe down on the phone with alcohol and scrubbed top I could. Let me know if you have any other questions or offers.
