Cobalt Mini-Therm heaters are outstanding for Pico tanks that require a small heater that will evenly heat the tank in a small package.
10 Watt - Good for tanks up to 2.4 Gallons*
20 Watt - Good for tanks up to 4.8 Gallons*
*Will raise recommended size aquarium temperature up to 10° over ambient temps.
Mini-Therm heaters were designed for pico aquariums, and are encased in a thermo-plasic polymer housing that is completely shatterproof. The heaters are always in the ON state with a ceramic heating element that evenly radiates heat throughout the heater. The constant on design means that you do need to size the heater for the volume of water appropriately, but the chances of it failing is virtually zero. On many small tanks, the temperature is a real concern with how speedy the temps can rise and fall. We do propose using a heater controller for ultimate temperature control.
